About Us
Node Mill is an Australian software company directed by Elliott Nieves and Jarrad Russell. We make software that combines our love for the craft of filmmaking with a commitment to technicality (and a healthy dose of fun).

Our Story
In the past few years, as modern productions have begun to craft distinctive lens looks in post-production, LensNode emerged from a shared passion to make that creative control available to everyone. Cinematographer Elliott Nieves and VFX Artist/Programmer Jarrad Russell saw shows like Mindhunter and Sex Education were manipulating lens characteristics — spherical glass made to feel anamorphic, clean and sharp optics treated to appear vintage — and realised this shouldn’t be limited to productions with huge budgets.

Combining their love of filmmaking, imagery, and the technical aspects of lenses and photography, they created LensNode: a plugin that gives everyone from hobbyists to professional colourists the ability to shape lens character in post.

As LensNode developed, even more creative possibilities were uncovered. Being able to animate individual lens characteristics, or emulate different sensor sizes to create previously impossible effects are just some of the new and exciting capabilities LensNode has unlocked for filmmakers.

LensNode started as an experiment and grew into a tool that can do so much more. It isn't a replacement for real lenses, it's another powerful creative tool in the filmmaker's toolkit.
